I've been a fan of this version of X-Factor since volume one, but this book was truly above and beyond. Peter David is one of the best writers in comics and it shows in this book. The story takes a shockingly dark turn early on, but this allows for the most meaningful character drama in the series to unfold. Issue #40 is nearly flawless.
